Recently, Dr. Emma (Xuerong) Song from Sunhy International Division successfully published an SCI paper in Frontiers in Veterinary Science focusing on the application of urease inhibitor, AHA (Acetyloxime acid), commercially known as HyUrit in enhancing replacement of soybean meal by feed grade urea (FGU), reducing the cost of ruminant diets and alleviating ruminal ammonia toxicity.
This project was a collaborative effort involving three parties: Dr. Emma (Xuerong) Song from Sunhy designed the experimental protocol based on the characteristics of HyUrit and prior experiences; the Wuhan Academy of Agricultural Sciences carried out the animal feeding trials; the Facultad de Medicina Veterinaria y Zootecnia, Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Mexico performed In-vitro test for dynamic monitoring of rumen environment.
The study demonstrated through both In-vivo and In-vitro that addition of HyUrit (10% AHA) in ruminant feed where true protein meal was partly replaced by FGU, improved growth performance of Simmental bulls, increased the digestibility of organic matter, crude protein, and neutral/acid detergent fibers. More importantly, supplementing HyUrit significantly mitigated ammonia toxicity and lowered rumen pH. The experiment further identified the optimal dosage of HyUrit is 10-20% of the FGU content.
As a leading Chinese feed additives company, Wuhan Sunhy Biology Co., Ltd. is dedicated to market-driven innovation, continuously refines its products through research and explores their accurate application, in order to provide scientific solutions to the customers.
